The Miserables

"I dreamed a dream in time gone by, and I sang everything that I said. I dreamed my life was a musical! But, I guess I'm grateful I live in the year 2000." (To the tune of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Mis.) Okay, ya I know it's not 2000, it's 2013... WOOO party! I just needed to make it fit the song. So, as I have previously confessed in one of my posts, I enjoy singing a narration of what I do in my everyday life. It is no wonder that I love Les Mis, there are only about 3 spoken lines throughout the entire movie. (Yes, I know it was a book then a stage production first, but I am discussing the movie so just sush).
First things first: Anne Hathaway, whom I do not really care for except for her role in Princess Dairies, you won me over by chopping your hair off and actually looking damn good sans makeup and hair. Second: Marius sounds like a sexy Kermit the Frog. Beastiality :/ Third: Russel Crowe, while I loved him in the part of Javert and was pleasantly surprised by his singing ability, after obsessively listening to the soundtrack many a time I have found that he seriously sounds like he is stuck in an eternal yawn. Think about it. Fourth: Eponine's On My Own is my jam. Enough said. Finally: I frickin love Amanda Seyfried. Is that so wrong? I don't know why people don't like her, I think she is the bomb dot com. Maybe it has to do with her being in Mamma Mia and my first CD I ever bought by myself was ABBA for some bizarre reason, none the less. Anyone who openly admits that she is an avid taxidermy collector = my hero.
Those are my comments on the film. I had the pleasure of seeing this is theaters with my brother, Jordan, who took me to it as my Christmas present which was a treat because he is in the military so he's usually gone. I am hoping to go see it again with my sister and mom, but it is difficult because my sister, Jesse, just had her second child, Carl Fritz. He's just the cutest dilemma ever. Luckily my two best friends, Steph and Priya saw the movie, so we had fun deciding who from our high school drama productions would be who in the musical is we could magically make it happen. I would either be Eponine or Fantine. I would need a wig though. I ain't cutting this gold off my head ever. EVER.

P.S. ( I was going to make this video first, but some one beat me to it. While he may "sing better", I would have been hilarious.)

Workin' 9 to 5

Okay, so I am interning at my dad's vaccine company this summer. I am a lab assistant basically. When you get a job mainly on the fact that your father is high up in the company, people somehow seem to ignore the fact that you are extremely under qualified for the job. I assure you, I made it very obvious that I know nothing, I am not a scientist whatsoever. I sort of know anatomy and athletic training sorts of things, but not any chemistry past general chemistry. I started work last week, on Thursday my supervisor came over with a 40 page packet about DLS (dynamic light scattering) and told me to read it. She said "It's just your basic physical chemistry... You've taken physical chemistry right?" I just shook my head sheepishly. I "read" the packet.. aka I looked at a bunch of squiggly symbols and googled a lot of big words. Today I was asked to scan a packet of papers for my other supervisor, I was happy because I knew this was something that I could do. I scanned everything and then came back to my desk only to realize I put the papers in the wrong way and scanned the blank back of every page. I just smacked my head on my desk, then got back up and scanned the pages properly. Luckily I am getting better at the experiments in the lab, I am slowly being allowed to run them by myself with no supervision. I feel like I am on CSI most of the time, I pretend that the experiments are to catch a killer. Makes it a bit more exciting.

Home Alone.

This is how I feel right now. I have only been home from college for summer break for two weeks. Of those two weeks, my parents have been gone for about one of them over all. This would normally not be that bad, in fact it would be quite fun. Issue: We recently moved to Oakland. Oakland people! Number 9 on the Top ten most dangerous cities in America. Ya. So I feel constantly paranoid that people are in the house. Also, watching assorted crime shows on TV all day does not seem to help my cause. I get to pick them up from the airport tomorrow morning though, yay. I mean I have definitely enjoyed having the whole town home to myself (aka singing very loud narrations of what I'm doing at every moment that I am not lounging about watching TV... Hey, I was doing that before I even knew who Zooey Deschanel was).

Side Note: I always thought when I was a kid that I would get less afraid of the dark/night as I got older... really I will probably just get slowly more and more paranoid. Especially if I become a police officer (which is my current plan) because I will be around crime constantly. :/ Eeek!

May the odds be ever in your favor.

Hello People. The Hunger Games. Oh, my goodness. I just read all three books this weekend. Holy moly talk about emotionally investing myself. Can I marry Peeta please? I won't tell anyone who Katniss chooses or ruin anything of the books for those who haven't finished reading (because you all had better be working your way through these bad boys). All I can say is they were really good. I mean not as insanely interwoven as Harry Potter, but way more emotionally investing and interesting than Twilight. In Twilight it is obvious ho she has to choose. I was so torn the whole time in Hunger Games. But here is why I am on Team Peeta: 1. Gale is kinda angry and scary. 2. The actor is dating Miley Cyrus. 3. He is just so adorbs! Everything that goes on is just like FOR GOODNESS SAKE LOVE HIM!!! I want him for my own. So, anyone know a Peeta I can marry?

P.S. (Movie/Book differences aren't particularly that bad but, I must say Katniss is not really the same between the two as far as looks and such go. But Jennifer Lawrence is sexay, so I'll allow it.)

Jealous

Can I just say that my best friend Priya is way cooler than me? She has finally come into the blogosphere... and her blog is way better than mine. I am jealous. As usual. What a copy-cat, am I right? No for reals. Her blog is lovely. http://perfectlypriya.blogspot.com/2012/04/bookwormin.html?spref=fb Check it out. Even though most people who read this have probably already seen it because the people who read this blog are my friends.

In my life right now:
I am sick. I have Conference Championship Track & Field meet this weekend. I finally finished my application for an internship at the Spokane Police Department. Life is super confusing right now people. Stressing. Also, I am supposed to be writing a 10 page paper....

Wild Cherry Pepsi, don't mess.

Wild Cherry Pepsi, people. If you have a tendency to become addicted to foods/drinks DO NOT consume this! I am not too big on drinking soda usually, but holy moly. I got a two liter of wild cherry Pepsi when we bought a pizza once... cannot stop. I've been getting better recently. This 2-liter pictured here is in honor of Valentine's Day and how I have no man of my life. Most people who know me at college know that I drink ridiculous amounts if this stuff. We had a Secret Santa exchange with the cheer squad for Christmas, I was given a 2-liter of WCP. Ya. I abbreviated it... it's that bad.

Moral of the story: I swear I gained like 5 pound from WCP alone. So, do not drink any... or do because it is frickin' scrumptious.

Every Day I'm Sleepin' (as opposed to Shufflin')

I really do not know how some people can go out and party every weekend. I AM SLEEPY. I stayed home on Friday night, my friend Nacho came over and she trimmed my hair for me, and my roommates and I put black dye in our hair. View picture below for said black stripe.
(Oh P.S. I got an iPhone so I can look super artsy really easily in pictures now.) Anyways, I went to bed around maybe one in the morning, then got up at 9 to get ready for cheering at the football game. So after standing and cheering until 5 I was ready to pass out! But, no Saturday nights for cheerleaders mean you must go be social! So I go to a party and wear heels, which was just exhausting. Some friends from WSU had come over so they stayed at my house for the night. They were up around 8:30 so I woke up too! People, I can't do this. Weekends are for sleeping, sleeping and more sleeping. To the average college student the amount of sleep I got this weekend was probably quite impressive. But, refer to the title of this blog. I am not made for partying. I take naps literally every day before I go to track practice, even though I get approximately 8 or 9 hours of sleep every night. I am beyond impressed by people who function on their 4 or 5 hours of sleep every night. I would pass out.  It's ten PM right now. I'm going to bed.

BTDubs, Is it wrong that I still sleep with a teddy bear? I'm a 20 year old woman.... :/
